Taliban’s Minister of Mines Visits Qashqari Sar-e-Pul Oil Field to Review Operations

Mullah Hedayatullah Badri, Taliban’s Minister of Mines and Petroleum, visited the oil extraction sites in the Amu Sea area of Qashqari, Sar-e-Pul province, during his recent trip. He closely examined the technical and operational progress of the project.
According to the information provided, Badri assessed the oil extraction processes, the technical condition of the facilities, and the advancement of activities. He emphasized responsible and sound management of natural resources. Badri called for effective, transparent, and professional utilization of the country’s oil reserves and offered guidance to improve operational procedures and enhance technical capacities.
The Qashqari oil field is considered one of the most important economic resources in Sar-e-Pul province and plays a significant role in increasing national revenues and strengthening the country’s economy. However, experts consistently stress that transparency in contracts, the proper use of revenues, and the fair share of benefits to local residents are fundamental issues in managing such projects—areas where the Taliban administration has so far not provided extensive and regular reports.
Located in northern Afghanistan, Sar-e-Pul hosts the Amu oil field project, one of the major extraction initiatives in the region. If managed with accountability and transparency, it has the potential to positively impact the economic situation of oil-rich areas.
