Afghanistan Summons Pakistani Chargé d’Affaires Over Kunar Attacks

The Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned the Pakistani Chargé d’Affaires in Kabul and handed him an official note of protest following recent developments. According to the ministry, this action was taken in response to alleged attacks by Pakistani military forces on civilian areas and public facilities in Kunar province.

The press release stated that these attacks targeted Seyyed Jamaluddin Afghan University and several areas along the disputed Durand Line. The Foreign Ministry described the actions as violations of Afghanistan’s airspace and territorial integrity, contrary to international principles and norms.

Furthermore, the ministry rejected claims by Islamabad officials that the violence originates from Afghan territory, emphasizing that the root causes of the current situation must be thoroughly examined. The ministry added that Afghanistan reserves the legitimate right to defend its land and people and has called on Pakistan to refrain from such actions.

The Foreign Ministry warned that the continuation of what it termed ‘irresponsible actions’ could have serious consequences. This diplomatic development comes amid ongoing tensions and security concerns along the Durand Line, a historically disputed border between the two countries.
