Taliban Clarifies Arms Transfer to Brother of General Dostum in Kabul

Abdullatif Mansour, Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in the Taliban administration, announced that last year, the brother of Abdul Rashid Dostum formally requested the delivery of a number of weapons from the office of the Prime Minister of the Taliban administration, and this request was approved.
According to him, the request was submitted in a message to the Taliban Prime Minister, and following an official order, the weapons were handed over to Dostum’s brother. Mansour emphasized that this action was taken “based on justice,” and the Taliban administration values the fact that he personally went to submit the request.
These remarks were made during a meeting in Kabul, which organizers said was held to assess “the justice of the Islamic Emirate and the resistance of its opponents.”
However, the disclosure of the arms handover to a political figure, while the Taliban administration has consistently emphasized its monopoly over weapons held by its forces, has raised questions regarding the criteria for distributing arms and the transparency of decision-making processes within the administration. So far, no further details have been released about the type or number of these weapons or the legal framework underpinning this action.
