Taliban to Hold Meeting in Zabul to Implement Leader’s Order Against ‘Unwholesome Practices’

The Taliban’s Department of Information and Culture has announced that a joint meeting will soon be held in Zabul province to implement the recent order issued by the Taliban leader aimed at preventing “unwholesome practices” in the region. This meeting will involve participation from Emirate officials, religious scholars, professors, tribal elders, writers, media representatives, and youth.
According to the published statement, the initiative is organized by the Publications Division of the Ministry of Information and Culture. The goal of the meeting is to review and discuss the implementation of the 17th decree issued by Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada at the provincial level.
In recent months, the Taliban administration has issued several decrees focused on social reforms and the prevention of so-called unwholesome practices. These actions have, in some cases, raised concerns among citizens and civil society activists regarding restrictions on social and cultural freedoms.
Zabul, located in the southern part of the country, features a traditional social structure and significant influence from religious scholars and tribal elders, whose roles are decisive. The enforcement of such orders is likely to have a direct impact on the social life of the province’s residents.
