Taliban Ministry Signs Three Agreements Worth $2.9 Million to Support Displaced Afghans

The Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations has announced the signing of three cooperation agreements totaling $2,898,947 USD with three organizations. According to the ministry, these aids will cover nearly six thousand internally displaced persons and returnees across several provinces of the country.
Based on the released statement, the program includes the provinces of Kabul, Logar, Kapisa, Paktia, Khost, Ghazni, Kunar, Maidan Wardak, Nangarhar, Laghman, Parwan, Bamyan, Herat, and Badghis. Under these agreements, vocational training will be provided to eligible individuals, opportunities for establishing small businesses will be created, and food supplies will be distributed to needy families.
Officials stated that the goal of these projects is to improve the economic conditions of displaced and returning families and to facilitate self-reliance. This comes amid ongoing serious challenges faced by many returning and displaced families in Afghanistan, including livelihood difficulties, unemployment, and lack of basic services.
Given the widespread needs among displaced populations, it is expected that the implementation of these programs will be accompanied by transparency and effective oversight to ensure that aid reaches the genuine beneficiaries fairly and to prevent repetition of past problems.
