Two Female Journalists Besieged by Israeli Soldiers in Southern Lebanon

Lebanese sources have reported that two female journalists in the town of Al-Tayri in southern Lebanon have been besieged by Israeli soldiers. This incident occurred simultaneously with an airstrike targeting a vehicle in the same area.

According to reports, the two journalists were present at the site when the vehicle was targeted in Al-Tayri, an attack that also involved civilians in the vicinity. The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar stated that the Israeli army has surrounded Amal Khalil and Zeinab Faraj in the town and is preventing the Red Cross and Lebanese army forces from reaching them.

Lebanon’s Minister of Information, Pierre Markous, announced that he is following up on the matter with UNIFIL forces affiliated with the United Nations and the Lebanese army command. He condemned the action and held Israel responsible for ensuring the security of the journalists.

The town of Al-Tayri in southern Lebanon has been a hotspot for military tensions in recent months. Lebanese media organizations emphasize that journalists’ immunity while covering events must be respected, and the prevention of aid forces from accessing the site has heightened concerns about the safety of the two journalists.
