Fatal Road Accident Claims One Life on Yakawlang-Bamiyan Route

A fatal traffic accident on the Yakawlang-Bamiyan road in central Afghanistan has resulted in the death of a truck driver. According to local sources, the collision involved two heavy vehicles — an Actros and a Kamaz — both traveling from Samangan province toward Bamiyan.

The Taliban’s police headquarters in Bamiyan confirmed the incident in a statement, reporting that the driver of the Actros truck died at the scene. The victim’s body has been transferred to Yakawlang district hospital for formal procedures.

Taliban officials stated that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident. Residents have expressed growing concern over the rising number of traffic incidents in central areas, attributing them to a lack of effective road control.

Locals and observers cite poor infrastructure, disregard for road safety, and insufficient oversight by Taliban authorities as key factors contributing to the frequent accidents. Community members are calling for improvements to traffic conditions and greater accountability from officials.
