Water Supply Network Completed in Khanjan Village, Providing Clean Water to 93 Families

The Rural Development and Rehabilitation Directorate of Baghlan province has announced the completion of a water supply network in the village of Walyan, Khanjan district. With the commissioning of this project, 93 families now have access to drinking water.

Noorjan Bakhtar, the press officer of the directorate, stated that the project was financed by the World Bank and executed at a cost of 38,984 US dollars. He explained that the network includes the construction of a 20 cubic meter water reservoir, installation of 55 taps, and the extension of 3,876 meters of pipeline.

According to the information provided, the water source for this network is a natural spring, whose water is transferred via pipelines to be distributed to the homes of local residents.

Officials added that the implementation of this project also created employment opportunities for dozens of people. However, residents of several districts in Baghlan have previously complained about the lack of access to clean water. It is expected that the Taliban administration, alongside carrying out limited projects, will undertake more sustainable and transparent planning to meet the broader water needs of rural areas.
