Patrick Henningsen: US Ground Operations in Iran Have Failed

Patrick Henningsen, a geopolitical analyst, stated that the United States’ attempt to conduct ground operations on Iranian soil has failed, and Washington is currently focusing solely on continuing airstrikes. He said that, in his view, the US will not dare to deploy ground forces to Iran because previous assessments on this matter did not yield favorable results for the country.
In an interview with the Russian media outlet RIA Novosti, which was published on YouTube, Henningsen emphasized that the option of ground operations had previously been evaluated but, according to him, was met with a “catastrophic failure.” He believes the only hope for Washington at present is to maintain air attacks.
The analyst also noted that the effectiveness of US airstrikes will gradually diminish. He added that, simultaneously, the political, economic, and military costs of this war are increasing for the United States.
According to Henningsen, if the achievements and costs for the US since February 28 are reviewed, it shows that the country’s condition is deteriorating across various dimensions. These remarks come amid ongoing tensions in the region and continuing analysis regarding their implications.
