CNN Reports Complete Halt of Ship Traffic in the Strait of Hormuz

CNN, citing maritime data, reported that all ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has come to a complete stop. According to the report, currently no vessels are passing through this crucial maritime passage.
The report further states that most ships in the area have changed their routes, heading towards the Sea of Oman. The Strait of Hormuz is considered one of the world’s most important energy transit chokepoints, and any disruption there could have widespread economic and commercial consequences.
Yesterday, after the Islamic Republic of Iran announced that non-military vessels were permitted to pass through the Larak Corridor, a number of ships passed through the strait under the management and coordination of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy.
However, following what has been described as a violation of the ceasefire terms, Iranian officials announced that the maritime blockade of vessels and ports by the United States has not been lifted. As a result, the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the blockade is officially lifted.
