13 Balkh Mountaineers Successfully Summit Janwar Mountain Peak

Thirteen members of the ‘Ettehad Noshakh’ mountaineering team, led by Khushal Safi, the team’s administrative deputy, have successfully climbed the Janwar Mountain peak in Marmul District, Balkh Province. This peak stands approximately 1,800 meters above sea level.

The expedition was organized in coordination with the Balkh Olympic Committee, Physical Training and Sports Department, as well as the Balkh Mountaineering Federation. Organizers confirmed that all team members reached the summit safely after navigating mountainous routes.

The climb aimed to enhance the technical skills of the mountaineers, strengthen team spirit, and promote the culture of mountaineering across Balkh Province. Sports officials in Balkh emphasized that continuing such programs could encourage youth engagement in healthy sports activities.

Balkh Province, with its mountainous areas in certain districts, possesses suitable potential for the development of mountain sports. In recent years, there has been increased interest among young people in mountaineering within the province.
