Megan Kelly Criticizes Trump’s Close Ties with Netanyahu, Accuses Israeli PM of Manipulation

Megan Kelly, the well-known American host, has accused US President Donald Trump of being powerless before Benjamin Netanyahu, stating that the Israeli Prime Minister ‘deceives’ him and that Trump is unable to oppose his demands.

According to the Arabic media outlet 21, Kelly, in an interview with Piers Morgan, referred to the nature of Trump’s interaction with Netanyahu, saying that Trump’s presence in the operations room during his meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister raises serious questions about the independence of his decision-making. She claimed that Trump cannot reject Netanyahu’s proposals or confront him directly.

Kelly further stated that several senior US government officials, including the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Secretary of State, and the Vice President, warned Trump one day after that meeting not to accept some of the points raised without scrutiny. These claims have yet to receive an official response from the White House.

The American host also pointed to Trump’s rapid change in tone regarding Tehran, interpreting it as a sign of ‘political confusion’ rather than the outcome of a carefully considered strategy. She described the declared objectives of the US and Israel to start a war, including discussions about regime change in Iran, as ‘chaotic and unrealistic.’

Kelly added that despite claims about fundamental changes in Iran, the country’s political system remains intact, with only the figures changing. She also noted that Trump, within a short period, initially rejected and then approved a ten-point plan related to Iran—a move she believes was an attempt to maintain political credibility after retreating from his previous hardline positions.
