Pakistan Condemns Israeli Attacks on Lebanon as Violation of Ceasefire, Affirms Iran-US Talks Will Proceed

A Pakistani official has stated that recent Israeli attacks on Lebanon constitute a violation of the ceasefire agreement. However, these developments will not affect the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States in Islamabad. According to the official, the talks will continue as planned.
Al Jazeera reports that the official explained the initial phase of the upcoming talks in Pakistan is dedicated to setting the overall framework and prioritizing the topics for discussion. A Pakistani diplomatic source added that this stage aims to identify the main discussion points and reach agreement on a shared agenda.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry, in a statement, condemned the Israeli attacks on Lebanon and called on the international community to take immediate action to halt these assaults. The ministry emphasized that ongoing conflicts could pose further challenges to regional stability.
Earlier, several senior US officials, including Vice President Donald Trump and the White House spokesperson, along with Israeli officials, had stated that halting the war in Lebanon is not considered part of the ceasefire agreement. In contrast, a statement from the Prime Minister of Pakistan asserted that the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the US includes stopping hostilities on all fronts.
Islamabad, which has played a mediating role in several regional tensions over recent years, is now hosting this round of negotiations—talks that unfold amid the security developments in Lebanon.
