Trump Vows Not to Let America Become a ‘Third World’ Country Amid Immigration Crackdown

Donald Trump, President of the United States, continued his tough stance on immigration with controversial remarks, stating he will not allow America to become what he described as a ‘Third World country.’ He emphasized that as long as he remains in the White House, he will prevent the entry of immigrants whom he believes contribute to such a condition.

On Saturday local time, Trump reiterated, “If you allow Third World people into your country, you yourself become Third World.” These comments sparked widespread reactions across political and social circles in the U.S., with critics condemning them as offensive and contrary to the nation’s values of immigration acceptance.

The enforcement of strict immigration policies in recent months has had serious consequences. Last winter, two American citizens, Rene Good and Alex Pretti, were killed by U.S. immigration officers in Minneapolis; an incident that triggered a wave of protests and raised questions about federal agents’ conduct.

Amid ongoing dissatisfaction, on Saturday, March 28, thousands of Americans marched in protests across all 50 states and over 3,200 cities in the country, as well as in some European cities. Besides opposing immigration policies, protesters also voiced complaints regarding Trump’s domestic and foreign policies.

A significant portion of the demonstrations targeted U.S. war policies and those of its allies in the region, including tensions with Iran. Although details of these policies remain debated in official circles, critics called for a reassessment of confrontational approaches and greater attention to citizens’ domestic demands.
