Israeli Airstrikes Hit Multiple Areas in Southern Lebanon, Killing at Least Three Amid Fragile Ceasefire Talks

Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes early today on several areas in southern Lebanon, sources reported, resulting in at least three deaths in the Mifdoun area of Nabatieh province. These attacks came despite earlier talks about establishing ceasefires on various fronts, including Lebanon.

According to international media, the areas of Toul, Jibsheet, and Zefta were among the targets of the strikes. Additionally, Hariss, Dabaa, and Al-Kfour were also bombed. So far, no further details have been released regarding casualties or potential damages.

Reports indicate that these attacks are part of ongoing military tensions along Lebanon’s southern borders. Observers warn that the continuation of such operations could further complicate the security situation in the region, especially as discussions about ceasefires and de-escalation have been underway.

Meanwhile, the topic of a ceasefire in Lebanon has been highlighted by Iranian officials in connection with regional negotiations. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly, previously stated on social media that achieving a ceasefire in Lebanon and the release of Iran’s frozen assets are key issues that must be resolved before substantive talks can begin.

Recent developments in southern Lebanon have reignited concerns about the fragility of the ceasefire and the potential escalation of conflicts in the region.
