Taliban Announces New Security and Administrative Appointments

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban administration, has announced that, based on the decree of the group’s leader, several new appointments have been made in the country’s security and administrative sectors. According to him, these changes aim to improve security and administrative affairs.
According to the decree, Musa Kaleem Abu Nasr, the former commander of the fourth security zone in Kandahar province, has been appointed as the police chief of Takhar province. Additionally, Roohul-Amin Rohani, the former deputy commander of the 203 Mansouri Army Corps, has been appointed as the commander of the Ministry of Defense’s Support Brigade.
Meanwhile, Abdul Ali, known as Mullah Agha, the former police chief of Takhar province, has been appointed as the commander of the fourth security zone in Kandahar province. Azizullah Tayeb, the former head of the Scholars Council in Zabul province, has been appointed as the president of Zabul University.
The Taliban administration has not provided further details regarding the criteria for these appointments or the evaluation process used. Amidst widespread challenges facing the country’s administrative structures, transparency in the selection process of officials remains a consistent demand from citizens and experts.
