UN Expresses Concern Over Trump’s Threats Against Iran’s Infrastructure

The United Nations spokesperson has expressed concern over recent threats by US President Donald Trump to target Iran’s energy facilities, bridges, and other infrastructure. According to the spokesperson, such actions, if carried out, could constitute a violation of international law.

Stephane Dujarric, speaking at a press conference, stated that the UN is closely monitoring these statements and emphasized the importance of adhering to international legal principles and protecting civilian infrastructure. He noted that attacks on critical infrastructure would have widespread human and economic consequences.

At the same time, several international experts and legal scholars have warned that any military action against civilian infrastructure could be considered a war crime under international law. These views have surfaced as verbal tensions between Washington and Tehran have once again escalated in the media.
