Widespread Dissatisfaction with Trump’s Economic Policies in U.S. Polls

Results from two recent polls in the United States reveal that a significant portion of American voters negatively assess the economic performance of Donald Trump, the country’s president, and believe the economic situation has worsened compared to Joe Biden’s presidency.

According to a poll conducted by the Harvard CAPS/Harris Institute, reported by USA Today, more than half of the participants said the economic conditions during Trump’s tenure have deteriorated compared to the previous president’s term. This comes despite Trump’s repeated descriptions of Biden’s economic situation as “disastrous” during and after the election campaigns.

Simultaneously, CNN reported that based on a survey published in early April, 65 percent of respondents believe Trump’s policies have caused a worsening of the economic situation.

The USA Today report notes that the imposition of heavy tariffs and political tensions related to Iran have influenced rising oil prices. Alongside this, the Trump administration’s efforts to reduce food prices have yet to yield tangible results. Rising living costs and economic pressure on families are prominent issues highlighted in these polls.
