WHO Enhances Health Surveillance Across All 34 Provinces of Afghanistan
The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced improvements in the early detection and life-saving response to disease outbreaks across Afghanistan by strengthening disease surveillance systems nationwide. This initiative has been implemented through the deployment of Surveillance Support Teams (SST) in all 34 provinces of the country.
According to the organization’s data, these teams, working in coordination with partner agencies, have enhanced the capacity to identify, investigate, and contain health events. This process aids in the rapid detection of suspected cases and helps prevent the spread of diseases in various regions.
Effective health surveillance systems play a crucial role in managing health crises, especially in a country like Afghanistan, where some areas face challenges in accessing healthcare services.
