Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan Aim for $1 Billion Trade Target

Nuraldin Azizi, Taliban administration’s Minister of Industry and Trade, emphasized expanding trade and economic relations between Kabul and Bishkek during a meeting with Tursunkulov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan. Both sides set a goal to increase trade volume to one billion dollars.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the discussion focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and creating new opportunities for trade development. Both parties highlighted the importance of increasing the level of commercial exchanges and utilizing existing capacities.

In the meeting, the Kyrgyz official described Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan as “brotherly” countries and pointed to cultural commonalities between the two nations. He also invited the Taliban’s Minister of Industry and Trade to visit Kyrgyzstan to promote economic cooperation.

Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan are both located in Central Asia, and the development of economic relations between the two countries could also impact regional transit and exchanges. However, achieving the stated goals will require practical planning and the provision of necessary infrastructure.
