11 Dead in Floods Across Afghanistan in Past 24 Hours

The Taliban’s Disaster Management Authority has announced that severe rainfall, floods, landslides, and the collapse of residential homes across several provinces have resulted in 11 deaths, six injuries, and seven missing persons in the past 24 hours.

According to Mohammad Yousuf Hammad, the spokesperson for the authority, during the same period, three houses were completely destroyed and approximately 156 others suffered partial damage. He did not provide further details regarding the affected provinces or the condition of the missing individuals.

Afghanistan is one of the countries most vulnerable to natural disasters, with annual heavy rains and floods causing significant financial and human losses. However, many citizens continue to emphasize the need for greater preparedness, effective early warning systems, and prompt assistance to those affected by the Taliban administration.

So far, no information has been released about the search efforts for the missing persons or the extent of aid provided to the affected families.
