Taliban Claims 761 Killed in Pakistan Attacks on Afghanistan

The Taliban administration has reported that Pakistani attacks on parts of Afghanistan have resulted in 761 deaths and 626 injuries. According to officials from the administration, these incidents occurred in several provinces of the country between February 22 and April 4 of this year.

Hamdullah Fetrat, deputy spokesperson for the Taliban administration, stated that the attacks targeted the provinces of Kabul, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Kunar, Laghman, and Nuristan. He added that alongside human casualties, extensive damage was inflicted on public infrastructure.

According to provided information, 1,140 houses were destroyed in these attacks, forcing more than 27,000 families to flee their homes. Additionally, hundreds of shops, mosques, educational centers, schools, and vehicles were damaged, and 661 head of livestock were lost.

Taliban officials said that military clashes between the two sides lasted for more than a month. Nevertheless, both parties have confirmed that they have initiated talks in China aimed at reducing tensions.

The increase in casualties and displacement of thousands of families comes amid ongoing complaints from residents of border areas about insecurity and the lack of effective mechanisms to protect civilians. So far, no independent details have been separately verified concerning the manner in which these attacks occurred or the exact condition of the victims.
