Tajikistan Announces Plans to Expand Political and Economic Ties with Afghanistan

Tajikistan’s ambassador to Kabul has announced plans to expand political and economic relations with Afghanistan on Monday. He made these remarks during a consultative meeting on Afghanistan and Central Asia.

Saadi Sharifi stated that his country seeks to strengthen cooperation with Afghanistan across various sectors and emphasized the continuation of bilateral interactions. According to him, developing relations could benefit both sides and contribute to regional stability.

The Tajik ambassador also expressed appreciation for the security measures along the shared border and thanked those involved in collaboration on this front. Afghanistan and Tajikistan have a lengthy common border in the northeast, and ensuring its security is of special importance to both nations.

He added that Tajikistan supports the ongoing talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan held in China. This support comes as regional engagements on the future of political and economic cooperation with Afghanistan continue.
