Drinking Water Access Restored for 115 Families in Daman District, Kandahar

The Directorate of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in Kandahar has announced that the completion of a new water supply network has resolved the drinking water shortage for 115 families in the Nakhil village of Daman district in the province.
According to Rahmatullah Shaker, spokesperson for the directorate, the project was implemented with financial support from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). This initiative aimed to improve local residents’ access to safe drinking water.
As part of the program, a water reservoir with a capacity of 20 cubic meters was constructed, three kilometers of pipeline were laid, and 13 solar-powered system bases were installed.
Officials from the Directorate of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in Kandahar say that with the operation of this network, beneficiary families now have access to safe drinking water, which plays a significant role in reducing waterborne diseases in rural areas.
