Floods and Landslides Claim 13 Lives, Destroy 157 Homes in Afghanistan

The Disaster Preparedness Authority has announced that severe rainfall, flooding, landslides, and collapsing houses across several provinces have resulted in 13 deaths and 13 injuries.

Mohammad Yousuf Hamad, spokesperson for the authority, stated that these incidents occurred from yesterday to today in various regions, causing both human casualties and material damage.

According to him, during this period, 157 houses were completely destroyed while nearly 1,300 others sustained partial damage. Further details regarding the exact locations and the condition of affected residents have not yet been released.

Afghanistan faces annual natural disasters such as floods and landslides, especially in rural and mountainous areas, which frequently lead to loss of life and extensive property damage.
