Border Clashes in Khost: Civilians Caught in Crossfire

Local sources in Khost province report ongoing armed clashes between Taliban administration forces and Pakistani soldiers in the districts of Tani and Gurbuz, with local residents’ homes also being targeted. According to these sources, several civilians have been killed or injured, though the exact casualty figures remain unclear.

On Thursday morning, the 13th of Hamal, sources indicated that Pakistani soldiers attacked civilian homes in the Tani district. Residents were forced to flee their homes to safer areas to save their lives.

Simultaneously, reports confirm that fighting continues in the Gurbuz district as well. The persistent insecurity in these areas has heightened serious concerns about the safety of civilians and instability along the border line.

The Taliban administration previously announced that within the past 24 hours, 25 people were injured and two were killed due to Pakistani forces’ attacks. However, independent sources have yet to verify these numbers separately.

These developments come as delegations from the Taliban administration and Pakistan have traveled to China for talks. The escalation of clashes amid diplomatic efforts raises questions about the effectiveness of these negotiations and the Taliban’s ability to secure the borders and protect civilians.
