Taliban Government Reports 90% Telecom Coverage in Logar Province

The Taliban’s Ministry of Information and Technology has announced that during the past year, 31 new telecommunications towers have become operational in Logar province, increasing telecom coverage to approximately 90% of the province’s areas.

According to the ministry, there are currently 107 telecom towers active across various parts of Logar, most of which provide internet and voice services to residents.

Logar, a province neighboring Kabul, has long seen access to telecommunications services—especially in rural areas—as one of the residents’ primary demands. However, no details have been provided regarding the quality of services, actual access in remote areas, or costs.

Some residents had previously called for improvements in network quality, fewer outages, and equitable access to stable internet—issues the Taliban administration is now expected to address alongside expanding coverage.
