Over 50,000 Tourists Visit Herat in Two Weeks Amid Improved Weather

Local officials in Herat report that more than 50,000 domestic and international tourists have visited the province’s historical and recreational sites over the past two weeks. According to them, the Pashdan Dam and the historic Ikhtiyarulddin Castle have attracted the highest numbers of visitors and have become the main gathering points for tourists.

The Pashdan Dam, which has nearly filled with water following recent seasonal rains, has become a popular recreational area due to its lush green landscape and mild weather. Many families visit this site to spend their leisure days enjoying nature.

Ikhtiyarulddin Castle, one of the prominent historical sites in western Afghanistan, has also seen a significant influx of visitors during this period. This castle, dating back to ancient historical eras, remains a cultural symbol of Herat.

Officials attribute the increase in travel to Herat to improved weather conditions and the greenery of the region. They believe that the favorable climatic conditions in recent days have created an environment conducive to boosting tourism in the province.
