Deadly Rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Claim 17 Lives, Including 14 Children

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Disaster Management Authority in Pakistan has reported that at least 17 people, including 14 children, have died and 42 others injured due to heavy rainfall and collapsing roofs across the province. According to the authority, the severe rains are expected to continue until Tuesday.
A report released on Monday, 10th of Hamal, indicates that the highest casualties have been recorded among children. In the Bannu district, seven children and one woman lost their lives. Additionally, five people including four children died in Abbottabad, two in Kohat, and one in North Waziristan.
The Disaster Management Authority added that at least 11 residential houses have been completely destroyed and roofs of several homes have collapsed as a result of these rains, raising concerns about the structural safety of residential buildings in vulnerable areas.
Officials from the authority stated that the situation is being monitored closely and rescue and relief teams have been dispatched to the affected areas to expedite aid delivery and medical attention for the injured.
