Bamyan Rebuilds 32 Schools and Constructs Three New Ones with 164 Million Afghanis

The Bamyan Education Department announced that last year, 32 schools in the province were rebuilt at a cost of over 164 million Afghanis, and three new schools were constructed. According to the department, alongside these projects, solar power systems were installed in nine schools, and thousands of textbooks were distributed among students.
Officials added that hundreds of educational courses and programs were held during the year, which they say have improved students’ learning levels. These programs included supplementary educational activities and teacher capacity building.
The Bamyan Education Department stated that the goal of implementing these projects was to enhance the quality of education, improve the learning environment, and provide more facilities for students.
However, while there are reports of educational infrastructure development in Bamyan, the widespread restrictions imposed by the Taliban on girls’ education across the country—especially the ban on girls’ education beyond the sixth grade—remain a major challenge for Afghanistan’s education system, raising serious concerns among families and educational organizations.
