136 Killed in 122 Traffic Incidents in Badakhshan This Year

The spokesperson for the Badakhshan police command has reported that in the year 1404 of the Solar Hijri calendar, 122 traffic incidents were recorded in the province, resulting in 136 deaths, including women, men, and children, and injuring 175 others.
Ehsanullah Kamgar cited the main causes of these incidents as poor road conditions and unprofessional drivers. According to him, a significant portion of these accidents occurred due to carelessness and failure to adhere to traffic rules.
Badakhshan is a mountainous province in the northeast of the country, where many roads, especially in remote areas, face technical challenges and lack adequate infrastructure. Residents have consistently complained about the poor state of the roads and called for serious attention.
While the traffic fatality statistics in this province are described as alarming, it is expected that the Taliban administration and responsible authorities will take practical measures focusing on improving transport infrastructure and implementing stricter oversight of the driver licensing process to reduce such incidents.
