36 Development Projects Underway in Badakhshan Led by Mining Companies

The governor of Badakhshan has announced that 36 development projects are currently being implemented by mining companies across various parts of the province. According to him, the execution of these projects could alleviate some infrastructural problems, including road damage and traffic congestion in the provincial capital and some districts.
Mohammad Ismail Ghaznavi, in a meeting with officials from mining companies, stated that as the Taliban-appointed administrator of Badakhshan, he considers it his responsibility to provide facilities for the residents. He emphasized that these projects are ongoing in multiple areas and aim to improve public services in this mountainous province.
In the same meeting, Amanuddin Mansur, governor of Helmand, spoke about “comprehensive security provision” and claimed that conditions for domestic and foreign investment have been established in the country. He urged Afghan investors not to transfer their capital abroad but to participate in domestic projects.
However, some residents of Badakhshan, while welcoming the launch of these projects, stress that the province still faces a shortage of essential infrastructure, quality roads, and public services. They have called on the Taliban administration to implement more development projects in a practical and transparent manner.
Local officials have also stated that, in addition to the 36 projects mentioned, several other large projects funded by the Taliban administration are in the approval process. The details and exact implementation dates of these projects have not yet been officially announced.
