73 Cattle Smuggling Attempt Thwarted in Spin Boldak District, Kandahar

The Department of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Kandahar has announced that the smuggling of 73 cattle from Pakistan into the province was prevented. According to the department, the incident took place in the Spin Boldak district along the Durand Line border.
Officials added that several individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, and legal action will be taken against them following court rulings. No further details have been released regarding the identities of the detainees.
According to provided information, three days ago authorities also stopped the smuggling of 50 cattle from Pakistan into Afghanistan. These incidents highlight ongoing efforts to curb the illegal transfer of livestock along this route.
In recent weeks, patrols and mobile campaigns by Taliban security forces have intensified along the Durand Line border. However, the continued occurrence of smuggling raises questions about the effectiveness of current measures and the need for more efficient border management. Officials have emphasized that no individual will be allowed to smuggle livestock in or out illegally.
