Bus Overturns Amid Severe Flooding in Shindand District, Herat

A 404-model passenger bus overturned due to severe flooding in the Shindand district of Herat province. The incident occurred this morning in the Azizabad area, where heavy rains caused flash floods and damaged parts of local roads.

Local sources report that the intensity of the rainfall in the early hours was so severe that transportation routes were widely damaged, significantly hindering vehicle movement. So far, no details have been released regarding possible casualties from this event.

Local officials have urged residents of the flood-affected areas to avoid traveling on damaged roads and flood-prone routes during heavy rains. However, inhabitants of the district have consistently complained about the lack of standard infrastructure and neglect in reinforcing transportation routes against natural disasters.

Shindand is one of the large and densely populated districts of Herat, which has frequently experienced seasonal floods in recent years. Experts emphasize that immediate attention to the condition of the roads and the establishment of preventive systems could prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
