Taliban Authorities Report $3.8 Million Spent on Development Projects in Ghor Province

Local officials in Ghor province say that over the past year, dozens of development projects worth 304,527,637 Afghanis from the Taliban administration’s budget have been implemented and put into operation in the province.

According to these officials, the projects cover various sectors, including reconstruction, education, economy, health, and culture. Among the initiatives mentioned are the construction and repair of public and rural roads, establishment of water supply networks, building of dams, mosques, and health centers.

Ghor is one of the mountainous and underdeveloped provinces in the central part of the country, where residents have consistently complained about the lack of basic infrastructure, particularly in remote areas. Despite announcements about the implementation of these projects, the Taliban administration has yet to provide detailed information on monitoring processes, implementation criteria, and the actual impact of these programs on improving people’s lives.

Development experts emphasize that transparency in budget spending and accountability to citizens are essential elements of any sustainable development program—a matter on which local officials in Ghor are expected to provide clearer reporting.
