Young Man Drowns in Farahrud District River, Body Still Missing

Local sources in Farah province confirm that a young man has died after drowning in a river in Farahrud district. According to these sources, as of the time of this report, his body has not yet been recovered from the water.

The incident occurred in the afternoon on Friday, 7th of Hamal, in the Bagpol area of Farahrud district. Local residents said the young man entered the river while playing in the water and drowned as a result.

No further details about the victim’s identity or the exact circumstances of the incident have been released, but sources emphasize that efforts to locate the body are ongoing.

In recent years, similar incidents have repeatedly occurred in several provinces across the country. The lack of basic rescue equipment near rivers and the Taliban administration’s neglect in implementing preventive measures are considered factors that have increased the risk of such accidents.

Disaster management experts have repeatedly stressed the need to raise awareness among residents, especially young people, and to establish rescue facilities in high-risk areas—a measure that could prevent the recurrence of such deadly incidents.
