Uzbekistan Delegation Arrives in Kabul to Boost Trade and Investment

A high-level government and private sector delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Shokht Abdulrazakov, Governor of Namangan province, has arrived in Kabul with the aim of expanding trade and exploring investment opportunities.

The delegation includes deputy governors and over 30 prominent merchants and investors from Namangan. They are scheduled to meet with Taliban officials and participate in a trade conference and joint economic meetings. The focus of these engagements is stated to be on enhancing commercial ties and creating new areas for economic cooperation between the two countries.

Members of the delegation will also travel to Balkh province and meet local officials and private sector representatives in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif. Organizing trade meetings and inaugurating an exhibition showcasing Uzbek products and manufactures are also planned for the trip.

This visit follows recent exchanges between Uzbek officials and Afghanistan. Earlier, Erkinjon Turdimov, Governor of Syrdarya province, traveled to Afghanistan with a delegation. It has also been reported that meetings between Nooruddin Azizi, Taliban’s Minister of Industry and Trade, and Uzbek officials paved the way for these visits. Other governors from Uzbekistan are expected to come to Afghanistan to further develop economic relations.
