Taliban’s Ministry of Defense Denies Pakistan’s Claims of Capturing Afghan Territory

The Taliban’s Ministry of Defense has rejected reports published in some Pakistani media alleging that Pakistani forces have captured parts of Afghanistan’s territory, calling these claims “baseless.” According to the ministry, no part of the country’s territory has come under Pakistani control.

Officials from the ministry stated that the situation in the provinces of Paktika, Nuristan, and other border areas is normal, with all regions under the control of Afghan forces. They emphasized that movements in these areas are proceeding as usual.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces visited the Turo district in Paktika province, an area that some Pakistani military-affiliated sources had claimed to have seized. The Ministry of Defense described the visit as a field assessment of the security situation and a practical refutation of the allegations made.

These recent claims come amid ongoing tensions and reciprocal statements along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border over the past years, a matter that has consistently raised concerns among residents of border areas.
