Dozens of Cooking Oil Containers Enter Afghanistan from Islam Qala Border to Herat

Mohammad Yousuf Saeedi, spokesperson for the governor of Herat, announced that dozens of containers of cooking oil have entered the country through the Islam Qala border and the process of distributing them to domestic markets has begun.

In a video posted on the Axe network, he stated that these shipments arrived via the Islam Qala border crossing, which is considered one of the most important trade routes between Afghanistan and Iran.

According to Saeedi, with the introduction of this volume of cooking oil into local markets, it is expected that oil prices will decrease in cities. However, the extent of the impact on prices will depend on distribution methods, market oversight, and prevention of hoarding.

In recent months, residents of some provinces have expressed concerns over price fluctuations of essential goods, especially cooking oil, and have called for practical measures by the Taliban administration to stabilize prices.
