Floods in Badghis Province Kill Four, Leave Several Missing

Floodwaters in several districts of Badghis province have claimed the lives of four people, including a child, injured two others, and left several missing. The provincial authorities of Badghis confirmed in a statement that the incident occurred following recent heavy rains, resulting in both human casualties and property damage. According to the report, the situation remains concerning in some of the affected areas. In addition to human losses, a large number of livestock belonging to local residents have perished, and residential houses have been damaged. Seasonal floods annually cause extensive damage to village residents in western Afghan provinces, including Badghis. Given the recurrent nature of such natural disasters, it is expected that the Taliban administration will take effective measures for the immediate assistance of those affected, search for the missing persons, and provide emergency aid — demands that have consistently been a serious concern for the vulnerable communities.
