Severe Rainfall and Flood Warning Issued for 30 Provinces in Afghanistan

The Meteorological Department of the Ministry of Transport and Aviation under the Taliban administration has announced that heavy rains, strong winds, and flash floods are expected tomorrow in 30 provinces across the country.

According to the forecast, the provinces of Herat, Farah, Nimroz, Helmand, Ghor, Faryab, Daikundi, Uruzgan, Zabul, Paktika, Paktia, Khost, Logar, Ghazni, Maidan Wardak, Bamyan, Sar-e Pol, Kunduz, Samangan, Baghlan, Parwan, Panjshir, Kapisa, Kabul, Nangarhar, Laghman, Kunar, Nuristan, Takhar, and Badakhshan are included in this warning.

The Meteorological Department has urged residents of these provinces to take precautionary measures in vulnerable areas due to the high possibility of rising water levels and sudden flash floods.

Afghanistan, due to its geographical location and the mountainous nature of many parts of the country, experiences damaging floods every year during the rainy seasons, causing both financial losses and casualties.
