Trump Delays Attack on Iranian Energy Facilities for Second Time Amid Ongoing Tensions

Donald Trump, President of the United States, announced that an attack on Iran’s energy facilities has been postponed for another ten days. During his first cabinet meeting since the outbreak of the war, he reiterated that talks with Tehran are ongoing, and future decisions will be based on the progress of these consultations.
In the meeting held on Thursday at the White House, Trump claimed for the umpteenth time since the start of the war that Iran’s navy and air force have been “completely” destroyed. He also stated that nearly 90 percent of missile launch platforms and “probably more than 90 percent” of Iran’s missiles have been destroyed or neutralized. These claims come amid continuing Iranian missile attacks on various targets in the Gulf countries and occupied territories.
The US president further said that Iran desires to reach an agreement but emphasized that if Tehran refuses to negotiate, the attacks will continue. At the same time, he described Iranian officials as “very good” negotiators. Previously, Iranian authorities have repeatedly stated they will not enter negotiations with the US and will continue their attacks until the threat of war is fully removed.
In the same meeting, Steve Witkoff, the US special representative, announced that Washington has sent a 15-point list to Iran through Pakistan. Details of this list have not yet been released, but officials in Tehran have declared the list non-negotiable.
Trump also warned that if Iran does not accept a ceasefire, military operations will continue. These developments occur amid rising energy prices, including oil and liquefied gas, due to Iran’s continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
