Pakistan Resumes Military Operation ‘Azab al-Haq’ to Counter Security Threats

Pakistani officials have announced the resumption of the military operation named ‘Azab al-Haq’ after a temporary pause. According to them, the pause was implemented temporarily due to the Eid festival and at the request of some friendly countries.

Tahir Andarabi, spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, stated on Thursday during a weekly press briefing that the operation is now active again, with its focus on eliminating security threats. He emphasized that this military action is designed to be “targeted” and aims to strike terrorist group hideouts in specific areas.

However, Pakistani officials have not provided further details regarding the geographic scope, duration, or potential outcomes of this operation. They only affirmed that this action is part of efforts to ensure Pakistan’s national security.

Similar operations have been conducted in past years in certain regions of Pakistan to combat armed groups’ activities, but accurate assessments of their effectiveness have typically been hampered by limited official information.
