Over 1,100 Afghans Await Transfer to US at Doha Base

The organization ‘Afghan Evac’ involved in the transfer process of Afghans to the United States has announced that more than 1,100 Afghan citizens are currently stranded at a base called ‘Camp Al-Saylih’ in Doha, Qatar. According to this organization, most of these individuals are women and children.

Based on provided information, among those awaiting transfer are over 150 family members of active US military personnel. These individuals are waiting for the completion of the transfer process and resettlement in the United States.

Camp Al-Saylih is one of the centers used for temporary accommodation and processing of Afghan migration cases following the political changes in Afghanistan and the Taliban’s takeover. However, prolonged delays in the transfer process have caused many families to remain at this center for an indefinite period.

No further details have been released regarding the reasons behind the delay in transferring these individuals, but migrant support organizations have repeatedly cited administrative challenges and the complexity of case reviews as key issues.
