John Bolton Urges Taliban to Cooperate with US on Regime Change in Iran

John Bolton, former US National Security Advisor, has stated that if the Taliban administration seeks to improve relations with the United States, it must cooperate with Washington on the issue of Iran. He emphasized that without a fundamental change in Taliban policies, the US approach towards the group will not change.
On Wednesday, Bolton told Afghanistan International that the United States is closely watching the Taliban’s policies towards the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to him, the nature of the Taliban’s interaction with Tehran is one of Washington’s key concerns.
He said that if the Taliban aims to open relations with the US, it must cooperate in changing the structure of governance in Iran. In this interview, Bolton described the Iranian government as a destabilizing force in the region but did not provide further details on how such cooperation would take place.
The former US National Security Advisor also expressed doubts that the Taliban administration would choose this path, as it might be concerned about potential repercussions. The Taliban administration has yet to respond to these remarks.
