Hezbollah Claims Destruction of 17 Israeli Merkava Tanks in One Day

Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement announced that from midnight last night until noon today (Thursday), it targeted 17 Israeli army tanks in several separate attacks across different areas. According to these claims, advanced Merkava tanks were hit during these operations.
In the first incident, which occurred at 1:50 a.m., a Merkava tank near the town of Deir Sariyan was struck by a missile, which Hezbollah described as a “precise and definitive” hit.
Then, at 2:20 a.m., a group of Israeli soldiers heading toward the same town was stopped when one of their tanks was targeted. Hezbollah has not released further details regarding possible casualties from this event.
In another attack on the Al-Taybeh–Al-Qantara road, an Israeli tank was hit by a guided missile. Israeli officials had not issued any official response to these claims at the time of publication.
The Merkava tank is considered one of the Israeli army’s most advanced armored vehicles and plays a key role in regional conflicts. An increase in such attacks could signal a decline in the offensive power of the Israeli regime.
