Pakistan Seeks to Mediate Between Tehran and Washington Amid Rising Middle East Tensions

Reza Amirimoghadam, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Islamabad, stated that some “friendly” countries, including Pakistan, are attempting to facilitate dialogue between Tehran and Washington. He expressed hope that these diplomatic efforts could help reduce tensions and bring an end to the war.
Al Jazeera reported on Wednesday, March 25, that the Iranian ambassador made these remarks within the framework of regional consultations. According to him, the involvement of regional countries can pave the way for a political resolution.
Earlier, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, had also announced that his country had made progress in the process of ending the war with Iran. He further mentioned presenting a 15-point plan to resolve the conflict, although no further details about its contents have been disclosed.
These developments come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East following recent US and Israeli attacks on targets in Iran. Iranian official sources stated that several senior officials and some civilians were killed in these attacks.
In response, Tehran announced it targeted sites in Israel as well as in countries hosting US military facilities using drones and missiles. The escalation of these hostilities has raised concerns regionally and globally about the potential spread of the conflict.
