Trump Calls Herzog ‘Weak’ for Not Pardoning Netanyahu in Corruption Case

Donald Trump, President of the United States, has once again criticized Isaac Herzog, President of the Israeli regime, for not pardoning Benjamin Netanyahu in his financial and corruption case, describing him as ‘weak’.

In an interview with Channel 14 of the Israeli regime’s television, Trump said that Herzog had previously promised him he would pardon Netanyahu, but according to Trump, he did not fulfill this commitment. He accused Herzog of lying and added, “Does your weak president not pardon him? He promised me many times but did not do it.”

The U.S. president also emphasized that Netanyahu should focus on the issue of war instead of being entangled in legal proceedings. Trump has previously made several attempts to question the trial process of Netanyahu, who is facing charges of financial corruption in Israeli courts.

In contrast, Isaac Herzog announced on February 13 that the matter of possibly pardoning Netanyahu is under review and that this process will proceed regardless of internal and external pressures.

Earlier this month, Trump repeated his criticisms of Herzog, calling him a “disgrace” and saying he would expose him. These remarks reflect ongoing verbal tensions between the U.S. president and the senior official of the Israeli regime over Netanyahu’s legal case.
