Pakistan Holds National Day Without Military Celebrations Amid Security Concerns

Pakistan observed its National Day on Monday, March 23, known as “Yom-e-Pakistan,” without the usual large-scale military ceremonies or official celebrations in Islamabad. Reports indicate that security concerns and the country’s unstable internal situation led to the day being marked solely by a message released by the Pakistan Armed Forces.

In previous years, the day was commemorated with formal events in the capital, where civilian and military officials held military parades, displayed warplanes, and showcased heavy equipment, including long-range rockets. These ceremonies typically featured the presence of senior government officials and top military commanders.

However, this year, amid widespread security challenges across various regions of Pakistan, the demonstration programs were canceled, and only an official message from the military was issued. No further details were provided regarding the specific reasons for the cancellation, but analysts cite the security situation and internal and regional threats as the primary factors behind the decision.

Yom-e-Pakistan, held annually on March 23, is one of the country’s most important national occasions, traditionally celebrated with displays of military strength and an emphasis on national unity.
