Afghanistan’s National Disaster Preparedness Office Signs 137 Agreements Worth Over $53 Million in 2025

The National Disaster Preparedness Office has announced that it signed 137 cooperation agreements worth a total of $53,405,877 with national and international institutions in the solar year 1404 (2025).

According to information released by the office, these agreements were signed with the aim of strengthening preparedness against natural disasters, providing emergency aid, and supporting affected families in various regions of the country.

Afghanistan is among the countries most vulnerable to natural events such as floods, earthquakes, and droughts, with thousands of residents in different provinces being affected by these disasters annually.

However, the Taliban administration has so far not released detailed information on how this budget will be spent, how the implementation of the projects will be monitored, or the actual share allocated to vulnerable areas. This issue remains a serious demand from citizens and aid organizations regarding transparency and accountability.
